In a major boost to Qatar’s education sector, Pearl Modern School officially opened its purpose-built new campus in Al-Meshaf on Tuesday.
The grand opening ceremony was marked by the presence of Lulu Group Chairman and Managing Director Padma Shri Dr. Yusuffali M.A, who also inaugurated the new campus. A number of dignitaries including Dr Hessa Al Jaber, Qatar’s former minister of information and communications technology, graced the occasion.
The new campus at Al Meshaf has 90 classrooms and other facilities and can accommodate about 2,200 students. With a built-up area of 23,000sqm, Pearl School has all the facilities needed for a premier modern educational institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Pearl Modern School President Sam Mathew said that Pearl school is moving fast towards achieving its holistic education goal that equips students for the 21st century.
In addition to achieving this milestone of opening a new campus, he said, “We would also like to update you on some of the major developments that have taken place recently which will impact the operation of Pearl School positively in future. We have already got CBSE affiliation for Senior Secondary classes. Now, our school has become fully operational from KG1 to XIIth standard.”
“Pearl school has achieved another milestone in its journey with the recent tie-up with the Podar group of educational institutions. Anandalal Podar Education Trust was established in 1927, and the first president of the trust was none other than Mahatma Gandhi. The Podar group is now one of India’s oldest and largest education networks, comprising 136 schools in India with the strength of 165,000 students,” he said.
With this tie-up, he said, “Pearl school will be able to leverage the decades of expertise and educational innovations of the Podar Group of Schools. Podar group will be a great asset to the students and the Indian community in Doha.”
“We are also so thrilled to announce that we have acquired approximately 13000 m2 of land adjacent to our school. This piece of land will be utilized to build an advanced multi-purpose sports complex for indoor and outdoor games. This is another unique achievement which will add tremendous value to the students,” he said.
“We are confident that all these achievements will take our school to further heights and will bring us closer to achieving our mission of providing a resilient educational foundation focusing on the holistic development of our students. We are thankful to you for your continued support in making Pearl School one of the best educational institutions in Qatar,” he said.
