His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and the ways to enhance them for their common good and interests.
The meeting, which took place at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday evening, also dealt with ways to support and enhance joint Gulf action to achieve security and stability in the region, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of joint interest.
During the meeting, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to HH the Amir, and his wishes of good health and happiness for His Highness, and for the Qatari people continued progress and prosperity.
For his part, HH the Amir entrusted HRH the Crown Prince with his wishes of good health and wellness to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and for further prosperity and progress to the brotherly Saudi people.
The meeting was attended by HH Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of HH the Amir, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and a number of sheikhs and ministers. On the Saudi side, it was attended by princes and ministers, members of the official delegation accompanying HRH the Crown Prince.
HH the Amir and the Saudi Crown Prince also chaired the sixth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Joint Coordination Council. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed HH the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in his country and among his family and brothers, expressing his happiness and delight with this important visit for the historical ties between the two countries.
HH the Amir stressed that this important visit will deepen the strong and historical ties, especially in light of the circumstances facing the region, and wished continued success and progress for the two brotherly countries and peoples.
For his part, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud expressed his thanks to HH the Amir and to Qatar, expressing his happiness to be in Doha, the warm welcome, and to work with the Qatari working group, saying he hopes the sixth meeting would achieve a qualitative leap in bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.
He highlighted the many bilateral opportunities available to the two countries, and expressed hope they can achieve them in the near future for the benefit of both countries and the region in general.
During the meeting, the council reviewed the strong brotherly bilateral relations and the ways to support and develop them in various fields to broader horizons, to meet the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries and serve the interests of their peoples, especially in the political, security, economic, investment fields, as well as other fields.
The council also dealt with a number of regional and international issues of joint interest, particularly the latest developments in the region, in addition to exchanging views on everything that would protect stability and security in the region.
