As the part of the Qatar National Day celebration 2021, Birla Public School expressed its love and gratitude towards Qatar by observing Qatar National Week from December 12 onward highlighting the theme ‘My Values Determine My Identity’.
Islamic Elocution contest was held for students of grades 5 to 8 from November 25 to December 9 marking the beginning of the celebration.
This was followed by the finals of Qatar History Quiz Competition for students of grade 5 on December 12.
Art activity with the title ‘Tolerance’ was conducted on December 13.
Special assemblies under the able guidance of Section Heads were performed with passion and zest. The Qatari values and traditions, and the upcoming FIFA World Cup were the main topics showcased in the assemblies.
The observance of Qatar National Week concluded with the Qatar National Exhibition, exhibiting the miniature models of the different landmarks of Qatar by students across from grades 5 to 9. The best models from each grades were awarded certificates.
Dr. Al Khayareen Mohammad, director of Zoo Section at Al Khor Park, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He lauded the students’ efforts and appreciated their zeal and knowledge about Qatar.
The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies assisted by the Department of Social Science spearheaded in organising the events that were spread over a period of more than one week.
