The Al Shamal Municipality on Tuesday opened the Al-Mamlha beach for women in Al-Ghariya area in Qatar. The beach will be opened to female visitors daily from 9am to 10pm.
The opening was attended by Hamad Jumaa Al Mannai, director of the North Municipality, and a number of directors of departments and heads of departments in the municipality.
The opening of Al-Malha beach comes within the framework of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Municipality to open a beach dedicated to women, in an effort to provide the best services with high quality to members of the community, in order to achieve the sustainability strategy of the North Municipality and to benefit from the natural resources that benefit the members of the community.
The area of Al-Mamlha Beach is about 15,000 square metres, and it is equipped with a main gate from the north side.
A barrier of ropes along the beach has been installed to prevent the entry of water and the beach was lit with clean energy (solar energy) in the interest of the Ministry of Municipality to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
