Baghdad Baghdad’s highly secured Green Zone - home to the US embassy in the Iraqi capital - has come under renewed rocket attack, Iraq’s military said on Sunday. One of the Katyusha rockets fired was destroyed by the C-RAM defence system while the other landed near a celebration square in the zone, the military-linked Security Media Cell added, according to state news agency INA. The attack damaged two cars, the military added without reporting casualties. So far, there has been no claim of responsibility. The Green Zone, which also houses foreign diplomatic missions and Iraqi government forces, has previously been targeted in attacks that the United States blamed on Iran-linked militias. In November, the residence of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi in the Green Zone was attacked by a drone laden with explosives. (dpa)
