Doha: Katara Hospitality, a leading global hotel owner, developer and operator, based in Qatar, in in collaboration with Qatar National Tourism Council, Qatar Airways, Rixos Hotels, Qetaifan Projects and Discover Qatar, signed number of Memoranda of Understanding with international tour operators aimed at activating tourism in Qatar in the presence of  Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Minister of Finance HE Ali Shareef Al Emadi.
The Memorandums of Understanding were signed by His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani, Chairman of Katara Hospitality Board, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, Secretary General of Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and Group Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group, Mr. Fettah Tamince, Founder and Chairman of the Rixos Hotels with international tour operations; In presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Chairman at Katara Hospitality, Managing Director and CEO of Qetaifan Projects.
These partnerships will pave the way for long-term collaboration, through the sharing of knowledge and expertise in relation to tourism planning and development. Similarly, to encourage investment in tourism and hospitality sectors, the official visit of these key international tour operators will enable to promote tourism, exchange experience in the areas of marketing destination as well as promote safe, honorable and sustainable tourism. The signing ceremony took place after a day of showcasing the hidden gems of state of Qatar through presentation from official stakeholders including National Tourism Council, Qatar Airways, Discover Qatar, Katara Hospitality and Qetaifan Projects, followed by a site visit to Qetaifan Island North development.
These MOUs are designed to attract and absorb the largest number of tourists and to complement the efforts of Qatar National Tourism Council, Qatar Airways, Rixos Hotels, Katara Hospitality and Qetaifan Projects. In the framework of revitalizing and developing the tourism sector, Qatar has witnessed a comprehensive renaissance in all sectors.
HE Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of Katara Hospitality and Board Member in National Tourism Council said: "We are proud today to announce these partnerships, which represent our commitment to invest in the development of the tourism industry and enhance Qatar's hospitality sector. It is one of the most important aspects of investment, which should be considered as one of the largest sectors contributing to the global GDP, which has made it one of the most important sources of capital bringing economic growth forward. He added: "Tourism plays a role in increasing the capacity of productive countries and stimulating the movement of industrial production and investment in other sectors. HE Akbar Al Baker, Secretary General of Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and Group Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group said: "We are pleased to host such fam trips for tour operators from all over the world to Qatar to help them learn about the country's unique tourism experiences and products. It showcases an increasing demand on Qatar as touristic destination. Qatar has witnessed great diversification in the tourism source markets, which required developing new innovative tourism products and experiences that meet the tastes and aspirations of visitors from those markets. We continue to work with our partners in public and private sectors to develop these products and, also plan to focus on newer markets in the near future." He added, "QNTC strives to achieve the unity of vision among various sectors such as aviation, hospitality and others, towards achieving the Next Chapter of QNTSS 2018-2023, and to strengthen Qatar's position on the world tourism map. "
