The joint committee of the Shura Council’s Legal and Legislative Affairs and Financial and Economic Affairs Committees met on Thursday, with Deputy Speaker of the Council HE Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti in attendance.
The committee completed all of the questions and notes it had on the articles of the social security law during the meeting, which was presided over by Rapporteur of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Mohammed bin Youssef Al Mana. The committee decided to invite representatives from the designated authorities to address all of these issues.
In addition, the committee began debating the draft law on military retirement. It is currently reviewing all of the law’s articles to ensure that it meets all of the citizens’ needs, as well as determining which parts of the law require further clarification.
The joint committee hopes to continue examining the two draft laws and complete them as soon as possible, reflecting the council’s commitment to pursuing citizens’ interests.
