Telangana Jagruthi Qatar, an affiliated organisation of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) which functions under the aegis of Indian Embassy in Qatar, and Qatar chapter of Telangana Jagruthi, one of the largest NGOs based out of Hyderabad, Telangana, celebrated ‘Bathukamma’, the south Indian state’s floral festival, with grand fanfare at Loyola International School.

People from both the Telugu speaking states of south India attended the event in large numbers. Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr. Deepak Mittal presided as chief guest. Telangana Jagruthi founder and MLC, Kavitha sent her congratulations earlier via a video message.

ICC Advisory Council chairman KS Prasad, ICBF president Vinod Nair, ICC vice president Subramanya Hebbegalu, ICC general secretary K Krishna Kumar, head of Medical Assistance, ICBF, Rajani Murthy were special guests on the occasion.

President of Telangana Jagruthi Qatar, Nandini Abbagouni said that a special song was shot for the events with flowers in support of Qatar’s FIFA World Cup at the state-of-the-art stadiums built by Qatar.

A number of people were felicitated on the occasion including social media influencer Obaid Tahir, Raoof Kondotty and Shankar Goud, president, Telangana Gulf Samithi for Social work.

Several culture programmes like dance and songs by women, children and blue collar workers entertained the audience.

About 1,500 people from all walks of life participated in the large-scale event.
