The Amiri Guard concluded the 10-day ‘Striking Force’ joint exercise in cooperation with the Jordanian Special Royal Guard, in the presence of Commander of the Amiri Guard HE Staff Lieutenant-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani.
The exercise, which was held at the Lahsaniya camp and concluded on Wednesday morning, was also attended by Inspector General of the Qatari Ministry of Defence Staff Major-General Rashid bin Nasser Al Fhaid Al Hajri, Inspector General of the Jordanian Armed Forces Brigadier-General Sedqi Abdul Salem Al Rawashdeh, Commander of Jordanian Special Royal Guard Colonel Hamad Suleiman Al Jaafra, the Inspector General of the Amiri Guard, assistants to the Commander of the Amiri Guard, the Jordanian military attache to the State of Qatar, and several senior officers of the Amiri Guard.
Assistant Commander of the Amiri Guard for Operations and Training Colonel Jassim Abdullah Al Muraiziq said the "Striking Force” exercise comes in light of joint cooperation with the Jordanian Special Royal Guard to enhance the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, explaining that the joint exercises contribute to providing the trainees with training and combat experiences for the benefit of both sides by building a spirit of cooperation and closer relations between the participating elements.
He stressed that the exercise is of great importance as it comes within the framework of the security preparations related to the organisation of the FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Qatar at the end of 2022, explaining that the final presentation of the exercise had clear and tangible results, achieved the desired goals, and reflected the trainees’ high efficiency and readiness.
First Lieutenant Ali Hassan Al-Thani, director of the exercise, said that the purpose of the "Striking Force” exercise is to enhance joint cooperation between the Amiri Guard and the Jordanian Special Royal Guard and exchange experiences between the two sides in the field of training. He explained that the exercise aims at several goals, including enhancing the capabilities of the participants by reviewing the various training experiences, developing the training methods used in line with the nature of tasks and duties, and contributing to developing the level of trainees to reach the highest levels of combat readiness.
The final presentation included the application of a set of different scenarios and hypotheses, which included shooting exercises on fixed and moving targets, sniper shooting, mobile protection units, personal protection, rapid intervention, and ground and air medical evacuation methods.
During the closing presentation, the trainees demonstrated high efficiency and readiness in applying all the methods that were trained during the training period. The presentation showcased the new individual and collective capabilities and skills they had acquired, reflecting the extent of the desired benefit from these exercises.
