Qatar University, represented by the College of Engineering (QU-CENG), Student Affairs Sector and Professional Services Centre, launched a Career Fair for engineering majors this week in the presence of a number of companies and institutions from both public and private sectors.

In his comment, CENG Dean Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji said, “This exhibition comes to enhance collaboration with the college’s partners in order to discover the professional opportunities available in institutions and companies, and to provide broader training fields for students in the public and private sectors to integrate students into the labour market.”

He added, “We extend our sincere gratitude to all participating institutions that communicate with students to develop their skills and competencies in various engineering fields. Such involvement will enhance students’ skills and leave a good impact to diversify their experiences, knowledge and various abilities.”

In her comment, Dr. Haya Al-Attiyah, Assistant Vice President for Student Success and Development said, “The exhibition is one of the events organised by the QU Professional Services Centre, which seeks to achieve several goals, including the employment of graduates of the CENG, providing training opportunities for current students, as well as providing opportunities for academic sponsorship. It provides an opportunity for all students to learn about the requirements and needs of the labour market.”

“What distinguishes this exhibition is the specialised aspect, as it was organised in cooperation with the College of Engineering and focuses on engineering fields and specialisations, which will provide a greater opportunity for engineering students. In conclusion, we would like to thank all the business parties participating with us in this exhibition, who had a prominent role in its success and achieving its desired goals,” she added.

In her comment, Ghadeer Zainal, Acting Director of the Career Services Centre, said, “The Centre at the Student Affairs Sector, in collaboration with QU-CENG, organises the career fair for students and graduates of QU-CENG. The exhibition provides a number of diverse professional opportunities such as academic sponsorship, field training and employment. A valuable opportunity for students and graduates to meet with employers and build professional relationships and communication channels with various government and private agencies in the Qatari labour market.”
