Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari headed the delegation of Qatar to the 117th meeting of the Financial and Economic Co-operation Committee of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), which was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
The Qatari delegation included General Authority of Customs Chairman Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal During the meeting, the GCC finance ministers discussed several topics of common interest listed on their agenda, including the recommendations submitted by the GCC Committee of Governors of Monetary Institutions and Central Banks, the GCC Customs Union Authority, and the Gulf Common MarketCommittee.
Kuwari Qatar Central Bank Governor Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani participated in the joint meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the GCC States was held with the Director General of the International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, the importance of the continued efforts of GCC countries to adapt to current financial and economic developments as well as to regional and international challenges was reiterated. The importance to support and promote joint GCC economic development was also reaffirmed.
The 117th meeting of the Financial and Economic Co-operation Committee of the GCC preceded the 66th meeting of the GCC Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance Committee, held in Riyadh last week.
