MES Indian School (MESIS), Abu Hamour Branch celebrated Qatar National Sport Day on February 8 in the virtual mode.
The theme observed this year was ‘Sports is Life’. MESIS celebrated Sport Day with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The school held sports activities including sports quiz, badminton, basketball, football and basketball free throw competitions. A large number of students participated in the competitions. Students competed with each other while displaying great teamwork, sportsmanship and individual brilliance.
MES Principal Dr Mohammed Haneef shared his thoughts on the importance of sports in daily lives.
“To have a sound mind we must have a sound body first and to have a sound body we must engage in sports,” he pointed out.
Students also showcased their talents in sports by sharing short videos of their favourite sports moments. The sports competitions were conducted by PE teachers Sajudheen and Jibins Jose.
The events organised for students filled the students’ hearts with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
