Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani honoured the Qatar Handball team, which emerged as Asian champions once again recently, during a felicitation ceremony held at the QOC Headquarters on Wednesday. The felicitation was attended by HE Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Second Vice-President, QOC, HE Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, Secretary-General, QOC, Ahmed Al Shaabi, President of Qatar Handball Federation, members of the federation’s Board of Directors and directors of departments of QOC. Qatar claimed their fifth consecutive Asian Men’s Handball Championship title in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, in January. With the title win, Qatar, who also won the 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 editions, equalled South Korea’s record of five straight titles in the continental event.
