The Ministry of Labour has closed five labour recruitment offices for violating decision No 21 of 2021 regulating the conditions and procedures for licensing labor recruitment from abroad.
The closure decision included "Al Jawdah manpower,” "union manpower,” "empress manpower,” "tsaheel manpower,” and "Al Khaleej express manpower”.
According to the closure decision issued by the Ministry of Labour, a closed office may not engage in the activity of recruiting labor or concluding contracts with employers.
The ministry confirmed to follow up and continuously monitor these offices, and to ensure the implementation of the decisions taken to protect the rights of employers of domestic workers.
The ministry stated that the inspection teams made sure that the new forms of employment contracts for domestic workers were used, in addition to making sure that the recruitment prices were adhered to according to the decision to set the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers.
The ministry urged all citizens and residents to report any abuses or violations by the recruitment offices of domestic workers regarding the implementation of the decision to extend the guarantee of domestic workers or the decision to set the maximum price for the recruitment of domestic workers through the hotline 40288101 or e-mail info@mol.gov.qa.
In this regard, the Ministry of Labour affirmed that it will firmly confront all those who are complacent in implementing the obligations set out in the law, regulations, and instructions, adding it will intensify its inspection campaigns and will take legal measures against anyone who violates laws and decisions.
