Pakistan International School Qatar (PISQ) organised a colourful award ceremony to honour high achievers in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examinations 2021 conducted by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, who is Chairman of Board of Governors (BOG), was the chief guest at the event. The ambassador’s spouse and Salman Hakem Al Anezi from Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation were the special guests. BOG members Muhammad Ali and Dr Kalsoom Junejo were guests of honour.
PISQ Principal Nargis Raza Otho welcomed the guests and highlighted the achievements of the school. The high achievers were honoured with certificates of commendation, shields and rolls of honour by the chief guest and principal.
Hassan Ilahi and Manal Rauf compered the programme.
Imran Waqar, Hafsah Shoaib, Hafsa Imran and Syeda Masooma Shah secured first position in SSC-II science group while Sara Arif Zaman got first position in SSC-II humanities group.
Hafsa Muhammad Abdullah, Madiha Khan, Eiman Iftikhar, Sana Sneha Kay and Ramsha Rizwan bagged the first position in HSSC-II pre-medical, pre-engineering, science general, commerce and humanities groups, respectively. Hareem Khan and Shaima Mohammad Ijaz got second position in SSC-II while Maria Aziz, Zoya Arshad Karim, Marzia Baqir Ali, Afreen Ghulam Mustafa and Roshaney Butt notched second position in HSSC-II.
The students who stood third in SSC-II were Mariam Fatima, Akza Qazi and Rawida Gul while Khalifa Janar Khan, Mishal Fazil, Aleshba Riaz Ali and Shemaa Mohammad Iraq secured the third place in HSSC-II in their respective groups.
High achievers of Cambridge Wing included Amna Saleem, Khadija Yousaf, Maheen Rahat, Noura Muhammad, Rumaisa Attique, Omer Said, Ayesha Khatoon, Amal Mohammed, Hakeemat Opeyemi and Sama Waleed.
The ambassador also presented certificates of appreciation to faculty members.
Zainab Ishtiaq and Masood ur Rehman from the Cambridge Wing; Anwar Shah, Muhammad Tahir and Malik Shafiq from Senior Boys Wing; and Nishat Wajid, Summayah Hameed, Hina Kalsoom, Mahjabeen Baloch, Ammara Yasmin, Uzma Bashir, Mahpara Khurrum, Sana Naeem, Fozia, Sada Bahar, Naheed Nadeem, and Rukhsana Shaukat from Senior Girls Wing received certificates.
Congratulating the high achievers, the Pakistani ambassador announced that the construction work of the new building for the school would commence and no extra fee would be charged from parents. He appreciated the principal, staff, and students for their commendable performance.
