Pak Shamaa School and College hosted an internal scientific research fair competition to inculcate research skills among students.
The competition was held under the directions the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Enass Shatat from the ministry provided guidance to student researchers.
She highlighted the importance of research in education field and wished the student well in their endeavours.
The research projects were categorized into primary, preparatory and secondary groups. Different types of projects were displayed such as the effects of expired medicine disposal on aquatic life, impact of e-learning on students’ intellectual level at primary stage, use of vegetable oil for reducing evaporation of indoor and outdoor plants, cyber threats in online class learning, skipped and overdose medication reminder android app, impact of quarantine on the mental health of the students, role of contactless charging of public transport and utilisation of Magno – wind energy to generate electricity.
Muhammad Irshad, Ismatullah, Bindiya Babanna, Syeda Asma, Muhammad Omer, Tahmina Naz, Nadiya Abdul Kareem, Ammara Rafiq and Abid Hussain were among the supervisors of the winning projects.
Pak Shamaa School and College Principal Nabila Kaukab, Vice-Principal Zahoor Ahmad and Research Coordinator Amjad Ali monitored the research projects and guided the students and subject teachers and supervisors.
A panel of judges did the evaluation to choose the winners from each stage.
Iqbal Mohal (HoD Physics PSS), Sajjad Hussain (HoD Biology PSS), Azahar Hayat (Head of English department PSS) and Muzaffar Hussain (Head of English department PSS) evaluated the research projects.
Nimra Hafeez, Emaan Shahid, Alya Tarek, Hilm Wissam, Tahreem Fatima, Muqaddas Fatima, Aleemah yasirt Rizwan, Eman Fatima, Maira Zafar, Hamrah Raza, Muhammad Ahmed, Mummad Muqaddam, Muhammad Ahmed, Nayab Ali and Muhammad Usman Shahzad were declared winners in various categories in primary, preparatory and secondary stages.
Nabila Kaukab lauded the students and participants for their efforts to complete the projects in accordance with the outlines given by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Research Department.
