Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani met with Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Agency for Small and Medium Business Development (KOBIA) Orkhan Mammadov, on the sidelines of the Qatar International Agriculture Exhibition (AgriteQ 2022) on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by QC First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari and Second Vice-Chairman Rashed bin Hamad Al Athba, in the presence of Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Qatar HE Rashad Ismayilov.
The two sides deliberated on economic and trading relations between both countries and ways to enhancing them, the investment climate, and opportunities available in both sides and the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between Qatar and Azerbaijan chambers to establish a joint businessmen
council.
Sheikh Khalifa lauded the distinguished relations both countries enjoy, noting that Qatari businessmen are eager to get acquainted with the investment opportunities galore in various sectors such as agriculture and food security.
He affirmed that QC encourages Qatari investors to invest in Azerbaijan and supports all efforts aiming to develop both countries’ trade exchange which is still below aspirations.
On his part, Mammadov underscored the leading role that can be performed by the joint business council in enhancing cooperation between private sectors in both countries, pointing to the strong will of his country to attract Qatari investors.
Twar praised the economic and commercial cooperation between both parties, noting that the joint businessmen council will see board participation from Qatari businessmen who are willing to explore investment climate in Azerbaijan.
