talabat, a leading local tech company, marked Qatar National Product Week, an initiative launched under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
Organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with Qatar Development Bank to promote Qatari products and enhance efforts to localise supply chains, the Qatar National Product Week was observed from March 13 to 19.
The initiative included several events and activities throughout the week to support Qatari products, thus enhancing the State’s efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and economic diversification. The Qatar National Product Week, featuring a focus on national products, celebrated the successful journey of Qatari entrepreneurs, while providing them with multiple new opportunities to grow their businesses. To further support and promote the initiative, as well as raise awareness about national products, Qatari products were predominantly highlighted on the talabat applicatio, including talabat Mart, throughout the week, and free delivery on local brands was offered to talabat customers.
Additionally, talabat participated in a series of online webinars to discuss how companies can maximise their potential and create more sales opportunities by diversifying their offering and exploring new verticals.
Francisco Miguel De Sousa, managing director of talabat Qatar, said: "Our journey supporting local production began years ago, from providing marketing support to exporting ‘Made in Qatar’ items to other countries. "We were looking forward to raising awareness of local products during the Qatar National Product Week, keeping in line with our commitment to support local entrepreneurs as a community-focused company. Our continuous effort to bring a positive impact to the community ispart of what drives us daily.”
