Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) has received a financial donation of QR100,000 from Al Mukhtar Contracting & Trading Company to support administrative activities of the charity, which leads campaigns in Qatar to raise public awareness on cancer, ways to prevent it and the importance of early detection.
The donation comes from the company’s belief in the importance of social responsibility and its role in supporting the Qatari community.
Mona Ashkanani general manager of QCS, thanked Al-Mukhtar Contracting & Trading Company for the kind gesture to support the society in the field of administrative activities, stressing the importance of the joint efforts to serve the community and fight cancer in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 to focus on the human factor and invest in human health.
She said that QCS would continue its efforts towards achieving its vision to be the community partnership platform for making Qatar a leader in cancer prevention and its mission to seek to prevent cancer and control its burden in Qatar by working with partners to educate the community, support, empower and advocate for individuals living with cancer.
She added that QCS would engage in professional development and scientific research in the field of cancer and call for more cooperation and concerted efforts among all institutions and state authorities.
Yousef Habila, general manager of Al-Mukhtar Contracting & Trading Company, said: “We must contribute to supporting QCS, which plays a vital role in the Qatari society, whether in the field of awareness of the disease or in helping the treatment of patients who are unable to pay for the costs of treatment.”
The two parties stressed the importance of community partnerships and support of all state institutions for the charity to achieve its mission and goals, especially as it is making great strides with a qualitative leap in various programmes and services.
