The Pakistan Workers Welfare Forum Qatar (PWWFQ) organised an event to mark Pakistan Day in Industrial Area.
PWWFQ President Amjad Akbar and executive committee members Abid Shah, Tariq Niaz, Iftiaz Khan, Khial Afridi, Fahad Ismail and Qaiser Anwar welcomed the guests.
After the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, this was PWWFQ’s first event. The programme started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by national anthem of Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan embassy’s Community Welfare Attache Arsalan Khan Tanoli expressed the mission’s full support to Pakistani workers and invited them to contact him anytime for redressal of their issues. He thanked the PWWFQ team for inviting him and giving him the opportunity to meet Pakistani workers. A documentary on the significance of Pakistan Day and services offered by Protectorate of Emigrants, Pakistan was played. A cake was cut to mark the event.
Chairman of Qatar Pakhtoon Community Azram Malik congratulated the PWWFQ team for organising a successful event and offered his full support for future programmes. He also spoke about the role of Protectorate of Emigrants and its importance for Pakistani workers.
Senior VP of IAPWM and excom member of PWWFQ Qaiser Anwar thanked Qatari authorities for providing excellent working and living conditions to expatriate workers. He noted that skilled workers are playing an active role in completion of infrastructure projects.
Paying gratitude to guests and members of the organising committee, PWWFQ President Amjad Akbar thanked the Pakistan embassy for its continued support and cooperation.
Participants presented folk music and traditional dances. The event concluded with a dinner.
