Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of philanthropists in Qatar, continues to distribute coupons to low-income households, widows and expatriate families to enable them to purchase enough basic food items for the Holy Month of Ramadan. This comes as part of the ‘Ramadan Supply’ project, which is expected to benefit 16,000 families in Ramadan. Most of the coupons were distributed before Ramadan and will continue to be distributed until the first week of this holy month. The ‘Ramadan Supply’ project aims to support low-income families by providing them with food essentials. Under this project, the coupons are distributed to low-income families through local public figures across the country.
Commercial complexes are contracted to provide low-income families with Ramadan supplies. The families receive food supplies against the coupons.
The ‘Ramadan Supply’ project has annually been implemented by Qatar Charity for seven years to help the largest number of families with limited income in Ramadan.
Qatar Charity implements many important Ramadan projects like mobile iftar for workers and iftar for expatriate households, in addition to the ‘Alaqraboon’ Assistance, which is a financial aid to help those in debt and humanitarian cases facing emergency circumstances.
Nearly one million people in Qatar are expected to benefit from the QR100 million projects that will be implemented in the country during Ramadan.
