The Association of Badminton Academies in Qatar (AAQ), in association with Qatar Badminton Association (QBA), will host quarterly junior tournaments as part of the 2030 Doha Asian Games.
The tournament aims to give more exposure to younger players including a system for junior and senior players. As many as 125 young talents from 35 different prominent organisations participated in the event including Dynamic Sports, Absolute Sports Academy, Green Stadium, Prime Sports Center, YAAS Qatar, Feathers Academy, and Masters Academy.
The three-day event was conducted in 26 categories with 270 matches where Radi Najeeb, Prakriti Bharath, Pridhav Shyam Gopan, Anusree Shine and Nevaeh Serah Arun walked out with best performance awards.
Nevaeh Serah Arun won the U-11 Girls Singles, U-11 Girls Doubles and U-9 Girls Singles categories while Pridhav Shyam Gopan won the U-17 Boys Doubles, U-17 Boys Singles and U-15 Boys Singles categories. Anusree Shine was in the limelight winning the U-15 Girls Doubles, U-15 Girls Singles and U-13 Girls Singles titles.
Radi Najeeb won the U-19 Mixed Doubles, U-19 Boys Singles and U-19 Boys Doubles titles while Prakriti excelled in the U-19 Mixed Doubles, U-19 Girls Singles and U-17 Girls Singles.
Indian Sports Centre badminton head Safeer, former ICC president AP Manikandan, ICBF Vice President Vinod Nair and other prominent members of the Indian community attended the event.
