Doha Festival City (DFC), ‘Qatar’s one and only choice for shopping, dining and entertainment’, has announced its collaboration with Qatar Charity (QC) in a joint food drive during the Holy Month of Ramadan. As part of the ‘#Festival Cares initiative’, DFC has donated 500 boxes of essential food supplies to the mall’s services personnel, workers in the Industrial Area and other locations, and low-income families across Qatar with the support of QC.
DFC and QC distributed food boxes to ensure wholesome Ramadan meals for those in need. Each box included basic food staples that can feed up to three people.
The joint team, comprising DFC managers and volunteers, worked closely with QC representatives to ensure the distribution of the 500 Ramadan food boxes; 150 of which were donated to the mall’s services personnel, and 350 to labour camps and families in need.
DFC’s onsite team included volunteers from the mall’s staff, as well as General Manager Robert Hall, Assistant General Manger Hazem Murad, and Senior Marketing Manager Nehal Maher. The mall’s team worked alongside QC representatives -- Head of Projects at the Local Development Department Farid Al Siddiqi and Marketing and External Affairs Manager Salah Al Mahmoud.
Robert Hall said: "As a part of our ongoing Festival Cares initiatives, we are delighted to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan by giving back to the community through collaborating with our long-time partners, Qatar Charity. This month is the perfect occasion for remembering to think of others and extending a helping hand to those in need.”
Fatima Al Mohannadi, director of Local Programmes and Community Development at QC, valued DFC’s collaboration in ‘Ramadan of Hope’ campaign with QC, through providing essential Ramadan food supplies to service personnel, workers, and families with low income in Qatar to help them meet basic needs during Ramadan.
She praised the continued cooperation between QC and DFC in current and previous QC campaigns through the distribution of food boxes. She also stressed that QC is keen on involving companies and institutions in charities to give back to the community, noting that successful cooperation with companies, institutions, and members of society is considered the basis of the success of charity and volunteer work at the local level.
