Qatar University (QU) has welcomed the Argentina national team’s selection of the QU campus as their accommodation for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Argentine team is part of the third group, which includes Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland. The Argentinian delegation visited the university and inspected all facilities and stadiums.
In a statement, Dr Hassan Al Derham, president of Qatar University, said: "The university welcomes the Argentina’s selection of Qatar University as the headquarters for its team during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The delegation from the team has visited the university, its sports facilities and housing units. Every facility has best infrastructure with international specifications as we desire to serve with the best as always.”
Qatar University has opened three sports complexes that provide the opportunity to practise outdoor sports, in addition to the indoor gym for women. These facilities host various sports, including football, volleyball, handball, basketball, tennis, swimming, water polo, squash, gyms and many others.
