The College of Health Sciences at Qatar University honoured 189 of its outstanding students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 semesters, through the annual Dean’s List Honouring Ceremony.
The ceremony was held on campus and broadcast live on the College’s YouTube channel. The ceremony witnessed a wide presence, including Dr Hanan Abdel Rahim, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Marwan Farouk Abu Hijleh, Nada Al-Kubaisi, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, department heads and a number of faculty and administrative staff members in the college.
Asmaa Hassan, CHS graduate and master of ceremonies welcomed the guests with opening remarks followed by a welcoming speech from the Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Qatar University, Dr Hanan Abdul Rahim, and Nada Al Kubaisi, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. The audience were presented with a video montage of quotes from awarded students followed by the announcement of the dean-listed students and handing to them medals in honour of their efforts and academic success.
Dr Hanan Abdul Rahim commented: "I am very proud of the high-quality programmes offered by the college, as witnessed by our partners in healthcare institutions, and I am confident that the close cooperation between the faculty, staff, and students is an important driver of these academic achievements. Congratulations to all our students who were on the dean’s list.”
Nada added, "This ceremony is an institutional recognition of our students’ academic achievements. I am proud of the students who were honoured this year because they were not deterred by the obstacles related to the COVID-19 pandemic and made exceptional efforts to be among the elite of the distinguished.”
