With the objective of promoting environmental awareness among the students and sensitizing them on the need for the protection of planet Earth, the MES Indian School commemorated the ‘Earth Day’ under the theme ‘Together, We Can Restore Our Earth’, on April 24.
A special assembly was held, where the students presented speeches, skits, group songs, role-play etc. on the theme. An array of fun-filled and creative activities such as colouring worksheets, hand print craft’, slogan writing, poster designing, PowerPoint presentations and collage making were also held on the Earth Day theme.
By their enthusiastic participation, students evoked a sense of responsibility among the younger generation and the need for protecting and safeguarding the Earth, besides spreading the message of keeping the mother earth clean and making it a better place to live. Teachers briefed about the importance of protecting our planet from all the natural and manmade calamities.
Hameeda Kadar, school principal, appreciated the efforts of students and urged them to be grateful to the Mother Earth for all its bountiful gifts in the forms of flora and fauna.
