The country is all set to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with religious fervor and gaiety. As many as 520 mosques and prayer grounds have been prepared for Eid Al Fitr prayer. Public parks and beaches have been fully prepared to receive the visitors during the Eid holiday.
In preparation for the blessed Eid Al Fitr, the Ministry of Municipality has prepared parks, gardens, beaches to receive visitors.
The Parks Department of the Services Affairs Department in Al Wakrah Municipality has prepared the parks by planting seasonal summer flowers, cleaning all facilities, inspecting the lighting, and maintaining and equipping children’s playgrounds in public parks.
Likewise, Al Wakrah Municipality has implemented extensive campaigns to spray pesticides to combat insects and rodents, which included sites and places that will witness gatherings for the public during Eid Al Fitr holiday, such as Al Wakrah Old Souq, public markets in Al Wakrah, and the Eid chapels in Al Wakrah and Al Wukair.
Both Doha Municipality and Al Dhaayen Municipality completed their preparations for Eid, which included cleaning and sterilisation campaigns for all Eid chapels, and preparing them to receive worshipers.
The Ministry of Municipality has announced the timing of parks during Eid Al Fitr holiday. Al Furjan parks for families, women and children will open from 5am early morning to 1am.
Al Khor Family Park will receive visitors from 8am until 12 midnight during Eid holidays. Open public parks (without fences) will remain open 24 hours under the supervision of security guards.
Katara--the Cultural Village Foundation will hold a festive programme for Eid Al Fitr over four days. It will include a number of activities and attractions. The events will be held from 4pm to 9pm. In a statement, Katara said it has been keen to provide diverse activities that appeal to all categories and ages of people, besides decorating the premises and streets of Katara to reflect the joy and happiness of the occasion.

In celebration of Eid Al Fitr this year, Qatar Tourism (QT) will host the Eid Festival along the Doha Corniche from Tuesday, May 3, to Thursday, May 5, between 4-11pm each day. In addition to the region’s first-ever giant balloon parade with a marching band, festival goers are sure to find something for every member of the family – from stage performances and roaming artists to carnival games and food trucks and kiosks followed by fireworks displays that will light up the Doha sky every day at 9pm. Over the course of the festival, the Doha Corniche will be pedestrianised to allow residents and visitors to experience one of the capital city’s most-loved thoroughfares in a new and exciting way.
