The Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Tuesday evening attended the funeral prayers of Lance Corporal Mohammad Awadh Salem and troopers Mohammad Dawood Khayyal and Mohammad Nasser Mohammad, who were martyred while carrying out their duty in Yemen as part of the Saudi-led Operation Restoring Hope.
The prayers were performed at the mosque of Mesemier cemetery.
HH the Emir participated in the prayers along with the families of the martyrs.
HH the Emir offered condolences to the families of the martyrs, praying to Allah the Almighty to grant their souls eternal peace.
The funeral prayers were also attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani and a large gathering of people.
"Qatari Armed Forces mourn with great sadness and sorrow martyrs of duty Mohammad Awadh Salem, Mohammad Dawood Khayyal and Mohammad Nasser Mohammad, who died on Monday while performing their duty on the Saudi-led Arab coalition forces during Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen," the Qatari Armed Forces said in statement on Monday.
The forces expressed their condolences to the families of the martyrs, the statement added.
HH the Emir also received a telephone call from Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, during which he expressed his sincere condolences to HH the Emir on the martyrdom of the three soldiers from the Qatari armed forces.
The Yemeni President also expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Qatari people.
Meanwhile, HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General (Pilot) Ghanim bin Shaheen al Ghanim has reaffirmed that the Qatari forces taking part in the Saudi-led operation in Yemen, were performing their duty fully as required.
Speaking after the funeral prayers of the three martyrs, HE the Chief of Staff said the martyrs had made their country proud as expected of the Qatari Armed Forces.
The Chief of Staff offered his sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs.
