MES Indian School on Thursday held an investiture ceremony for the middle school student council members for the academic session 2022-23. For the first time, the middle school student council members came through an electoral process that involved campaigning, balloting and interviews with the nominees.
Upon conferring titles and responsibilities to the elected members of the student council in a glittering swearing-in ceremony, Hameeda Kadar, the school’s principal who was the chief guest on the occasion, felicitated the young leaders and urged them to contribute significantly to the development of the school by carrying out their responsibilities with perfection. She also asked them to be passionate about the assigned tasks and to foster leadership traits such as resilience, tolerance, and perseverance in order to perform efficiently as student leaders.
Jas MA, headmaster, Boys’ Section announced the names of the school appointees for the Section. Souda Jaleel, headmistress, Girls’ Section introduced the school appointees of the Girls’ Section. Marshals, admirals, cultural secretaries, house generals, student editors, wing commanders and green ambassadors were the elected members who donned the mantle of leadership and received their titles and badges.
The major student officials included Muhammed Rasal Bin Rasheed and Evelyn Johnly, head marshals, Sourav Sandeep, Annette Hannah Jetty, vice marshals, Aboobacker Siddiq and Denica Jane Machado, sports admirals, and Mohammed Zidan and Farah Rashid, cultural secretaries.
The newly elected head marshals, Muhammed Rasal Bin Rasheed and Evelyn Johnly led the oath-taking ceremony, reaffirming the diligence and dedication with which the new student council would function. The fluttering of the four house flags: Blue, Green, Red and Yellow lent a jubilant ambience to the occasion.
