Students from a Qatar Foundation school lived a sporting dream by playing at one of the venues for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as their own international football tournament came to a close.
Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, presented medals to winning teams at the finals of the Qatar Academy Doha Road to 2022 competition, which took place at Education City Stadium as students from kindergarten to Grade 5 levels represented national teams who have qualified for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The tournament spanned over 1,000 matches, with the finals – held over two days – seeing students receive a surprise visit from Qatari artist Aisha, who performs on the official FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 song.
