Doha, June 20 (QNA) - College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) graduated its largest class, with 559 students crossing the stage its 15th Graduation Ceremony, on Thursday evening at Qatar National Convention Centre.
The ceremony was attended by a number of their excellencies sheikhs, ministers, members of the board of trustees, faculty and parents.
"It is a profound success for the College to celebrate the milestone of its largest class at the 15th Graduation Ceremony," said College of the North Atlantic - Qatar, President, Dr. Khalifa bin Nasser Al Khalifa. "We are so pleased to see strong, capable graduates enter the Qatari workforce year after year. As a national college, these graduates are the reason we are here - to continue to offer a high-quality technical and vocational education. Our graduates are shining examples of the potential and capability of this great nation. As the future leaders, with the credentials they receive tonight, these students will become the leaders that Qatar has envisioned in the National Vision 2030."
Graduates were extended congratulations on their academic accomplishments by HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Chair of CNA-Q's Board of Trustees: "CNA-Q has equipped graduates with knowledge, skills, and competences, in addition to self-confidence, for taking responsibility and independence in the decision making to become active players in Qatar's evolving labour market. Today I am talking to you, graduates, as you move forward into the next chapter of your lives, starting your journey, and as you venture into the workforce or pursue additional higher education. No matter what choice you make, I have confidence that you will make significant impact wherever you go."
With the addition of the Class of 2019, the total number of highly-skilled, technically-educated graduates CNA-Q has produced reaches more than 6,000.
College of the North Atlantic - Qatar is one of the oldest post-secondary institutions in the country, founded in 2002 after a world-wide search to bring the best technical education to Qatar in support of the energy and industry sector. This is the 17th academic year for CNA-Q.
CNA-Q is leading the way in technical and vocational education and training, offering certificate, and two- and three-year diploma programs in four areas: Business Studies, Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, Health Sciences and Information Technology. Each program is tailored to the economy of Qatar, and aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030: to transform the State into a knowledge-based economy and support the State's strategic direction to educate and retain young Qataris.
Under the School of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, CNA-Q offers a customized industrial trades certificate, the Technical Certificate Program (TCP) was designed in partnership with Qatar Petroleum, that prepares students to work at the technician level in Qatar's energy and industry sector.
