The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) honoured 176 male and female outstanding students on the Dean’s and Honour lists for Spring 2022, in the presence of Dr Khalid Mohammad Al Horr, president of CCQ; Dr Mariam Al Hammadi, dean of Liberal Arts Division; Dr Mustafa Al Khawaldeh, dean of Student Affairs Division; Dr Izzeldin Bakhit, dean of Management Science Division; Dr Ahmad Al Omari, dean of Sciences and Technology Division; and a large number of faculty members and students.‬‬‬

The honouring ceremony comes to celebrate the scientific excellence of the college students from the three academic divisions and aims to encourage the students who have demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment and dedication in their academic studies and to urge them to continue the success and lasting excellence, and at the same time motivate their colleagues to be leaders and role models in the future.

In his opening speech, Dr Horr expressed his happiness and pride at the academic excellence achieved by the outstanding students, which came as a result of diligence and perseverance that continued throughout the year, and the outcome of the dedication of the faculty and administrative staff in the college to provide their best to develop students’ skills and develop their expertise, helping them to be successful leaders, who contribute effectively in their future fields of work.

He added that honouring outstanding students’ marks one of the academic achievements that the college is proud of, as it represents a true translation of the tireless efforts made by CCQ in order to develop academic plans and programmes and improve the educational results.

He pointed out that the celebration does not only mark the excellence of 176 male and female students, but also the college’s capacity to promote and consolidate a culture of academic excellence in a competitive educational environment, which is considered a real starting point for all students to achieve their professional ambitions with significant achievements which we all look forward to in the future.

The number of students honoured on the Dean’s list for the spring semester this year has reached 107, including 42 male and 65 female students, with 57 students in the Management Sciences Division, 26 students from the Science and Technology Division, 24 students from the Liberal Art Division.

The number of students in the honour list reached 69, distributed between 22 male and 47 female students, including 37 students from the Management Sciences Division, 16 students from the Science and Technology Division and 16 students from the Liberal Art Division.

To qualify for the Dean’s list, students must maintain a GPA between 3.60 and 4.00, and students on the Honours list must maintain a GPA between 3.35 and 3.59 for the semester.

Besides honouring them, students who have proven their academic excellence can enrol in the Honors Programme, through which the college seeks to identify, motivate and mentor outstanding students by studying more challenging courses to augment their transcripts.
