The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) organised its annual women’s event ‘Zaiqa -e- Aligarh 2022’ on October 6 at Doha Oasis Beach Club Hotel & Resort, led by association president Dr Nadeem Zafar Jilani.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nadeem Jilani said the universe is picturesque and colourful because of the presence of women. An event with a difference, AMUAAQ organised its flagship annual programme of women’s empowerment and ‘Zaiqa e Aligarh’ after a gap of two years. The programme is led and presented entirely by women.
The chief guests of the event were Sophia Bukhari from Qatar University and Kausar Hassan Choghule, founding member of DPS-MIS. The other guests included Sabeena MK, Tanu Chopra, Dr Hassan Chougule, Abdul Rahman EP, Mohammed Shakeb Ahsan, Vaqas Ahmad, Sameer Chopra, Prof Rizwan Ahmad and Rahat Jamal.
More than 140 people attended the function including Mamnoon Bangash, Faisal Naseem , Farman Khan, Farrukh Farooqi, Dr Shima Sadaf, Dr Mohammed Nayeem, Abad Khan, Dr Ashna, Ghazala, Dr Syed Intekhab Alam, Irfanullah, Syed Shahabuddin, Rizwan Ahmad, Viqar Ahmad, Dr Imtiyaz, Dr Shabbir, Dr Hassan Rizvi, Dr Sajid, Majid Ali, Moahmin Alvi , Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Poonam Sharma, Khurshid Qamar, Lutfi Kakar, Owais Qamar, Zarrar, Tauhid, Imamuddin, Jawed Ahmad, and Dr Nadeem Jilani.
Dr Ashna Nusrat and Ghazala Yasmin anchored the programme and greeted the guests. Mahnoor Khan Fatima started the programme with the recitation of Holy Quran. Dr
Ashna Nusrat presented the welcome speech and took the audience back to their journey of empowerment. Mahejabeen Anjum, Ambar and Saima, Zoya Anjum, Dr Ashna, Sara Ali and DrAsma were awarded with gifts.
The programme was partially supported by Care N Cure, Indi Grill, Affix Scaffolding, Adepts, Omega watt and Malabar Gold.
Zaiqa e Aligarh 2022 winner apron, certificates and mementos were distributed to all the winners and runners up.
