Mowasalat (Karwa) has signed a partnership agreement with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to set up a fully integrated mental well-being clinic for its over 17,000 employees.
The partnership honours Mowasalat’s commitment to providing a healthy and secure workplace to its staff, as well as caring for their overall well-being.
The pilot phase will take place over the period of six months, throughout which consultant psychiatrists from Hamad Medical Corporation’s Mental Health team along with the nursing staff of Mowasalat (Karwa) will form a special task force to provide effective and evidence-based mental health assessment and counselling sessions.
Necessary treatments and remedies will also be provided, should someone require extended support.
The primary objective of this clinic is to raise awareness of the importance of mental well-being as an essential element of an individual’s overall psychophysical health, while making assistance, counselling and guidance easily accessible and inclusive without any constraints and stigma.
Through this partnership, Hamad Medical Corporation will also provide multidisciplinary education to Mowasalat (Karwa) Health Professionals and staff to increase awareness around mental health, proficiency to recognise the signs of stress, anxiety, depression and other related issues.
Commenting on the agreement, Dr Emad Mohd. Bahloul, director of Medical Centre, Mowasalat (Karwa), said: "Our staff welfare and their overall well-being is an integral part of, and deeply rooted in, Mowasalat’s values. We have employees from almost 50 nationalities across our different departments, including our 14,000 taxi and bus drivers – who, while being responsible for taking commuters safely to their destinations, have made Qatar their home.”
