His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Malta Dr George Vella hold official talks at the Amri Diwan on Monday.
During the talks, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the ways of supporting and developing these relations, particularly in investment, education, culture and tourism spheres. The two sides also discussed a range of regional and international issues of common interest.
The talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Sports and Youth HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi and Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani.
From the Maltese side the Minister of Finance and Employment Clyde Caruana and Minister of Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation Dr Clifton Grima attended the talks.
HH the Amir hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the Maltese president and his accompanying delegation. The President of Malta had earlier arrived at the Amiri Diwan, where he was accorded an official reception.
