Public Works Authority (Ashghal) President Dr Eng Saad bin Ahmed Al Muhannadi has revealed that approximately 48,000 citizens’ land plots will be developed in 36 regions across the country during the next five years.

During the past five years, 26,000 land plots were developed for citizens, bringing the total that was developed during the ten years to nearly 110,000 plots. About 36,000 land plots are currently being developed, he added.

In an interview with the "Al-Khulasa” programme broadcast by Qatar TV, Al Muhannadi confirmed that citizens’ lands are a priority for the government, and there are explicit directives from Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani in this regard.

He stressed that the infrastructure development that Qatar has achieved during the past ten years cannot be achieved by any country.

He noted that the new projects and hubs shortened the travel time for the public and made it easier for them to move from one place to another in record time.

"The priority is for the areas that do not have sanitation and suffer from a high level of groundwater,” he said pointing out the projects that are implemented in these areas in order to upgrade them and serve their residents, both citizens and residents, and provide a better legacy for future generations.
