Diplomatic missions of Qatar have been organising a slew of events abroad to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In Berne, the Embassy of Qatar in Switzerland held a reception to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, with the participation of a large number of officials, lawmakers, media professionals and athletes, in addition to representatives of the FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), heads of diplomatic missions and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Switzerland, particularly whose teams will participate in the championship.

In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador of Qatar to Switzerland HE Mohamed bin Jaham Al Kuwari stressed the role football plays in building bridges of communication among different peoples and cultures.

The Embassy of Qatar in Turkey also organised a promotional event in Ankara. The event was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey Dr Mehmet Kasapoglu, Ambassador Qatar to Turkey HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani and a number of officials, heads and representatives of the Arab diplomatic corps accredited to Turkey.

The event included various sports activities and other engagements in honour of orphans. In a speech on the occasion, ambassador of Qatar to Turkey expressed his pride in hosting the championship and stressed that this occasion does not concern Qatar alone, but football fans worldwide, stressing that the world would see Qatar organising a distinguished World Cup.

He added that the events organised by the embassy are part of the promotion of the tournament, inviting the Turkish people to visit Qatar and enjoy the historic tournament.

The Embassy of Qatar in the Philippines held a party in the City of Mandaluyong to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The event was attended by Vice-President and Secretary of Education of the Philippines Sara Duterte, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Benjamin Abalos Jr., Ambassador of Qatar to the Philippines HE Dr Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki, Mandaluyong Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr. and other officials, along with a large crowd of the city’s residents. During the ceremony, officials delivered speeches and handed out souvenirs to school students in Mandaluyong. The event also featured various musical shows.
