QNADohaThe ceremony started with verses from the Holy Quran recited by Abdullah Yousuf from the College of Engineering and a documentary film on QU's achievements in 2019, global rankings it has achieved and its role vision in serving society and the State in accordance with National Vision 2030.HE President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham delivered a speech on the occasion in which he hailed the country's renaissance in all fields, which would not have been achieved without the accumulation of the efforts exerted by its people and their standing behind its leaders from the time of the founder until the present time.HE Dr. Al Derham said that Qatar University has the great honor to contribute to this renaissance through the successive generations of its graduates, who are now working in all aspects of life and contribute by their ideas and efforts to build the homeland.QU's President pointed out that thanks to God, and the to the continued support of the Board of Trustees, the University achieved in recent years advanced position in the list of the best universities in the world, as it ranked 276 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings for world universities and 408 in the Times ranking.The President of QU called upon the graduates to remember their responsibilities towards God, their home, the Amir and their parents in making the future of this country and preserving its values, role and mission.For his part, student Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Obaidli from the College of Law delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates, praising the role and position of Qatar University in which the official collaborate with the student and in which the institutional work is prevailed.He also stressed that QU's success is based on effective partnership and the empowerment of young people in line with the vision of a new era, adding that QU's students have witnessed the radical transformation of the Qatari politics, and that this batch of graduates is competent to carry the 42nd mantle of Qatar University.He continued to say that the graduates have great ambitions and visions, and that they are honored as graduates of a national university to pursue these ambitions and visions.At the end of his speech, student Al Obaidli promised HH the Amir, on behalf of the graduates, that they will be the role model that believes in partnership and transparency and in taking responsibility.HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani then honored the 87 outstanding graduates.HE President of Qatar University handed the certificates to 752 graduate students in various disciplines.
