In a bid to tap the growing high-end luxury interior design market in Qatar, the world’s leading interior design company ‘Interior-Treasures’ opened its office at the Al Asmakh Tower on the 22nd floor in Doha on Sunday.
Formally inaugurated by Regency Group Holding President Ibrahim al Asmakh and Sheikh Khalid Al Thani , Interior Treasures Qatar will concentrate especially in the residential, corporate and luxury yacht markets of the country.
“This office is the result of my long association with Qatar. I came to Qatar for the first time in 1982 through my dear friend Salman Darwish. I worked on some projects during my initial years in Qatar. I was also involved in many other projects in the region. However, it was four years ago when I was introduced to Ibrahim Hassan al Asmakh, my association with Qatar deepened,” Marieux van den Broek, founder, and owner of Interior Treasures Design Group, said.
“Ibrahim Hassan al Asmakh gave me the opportunity to do interior designing of his offices in the iconic Al Asmakh Tower. Today, offices at the 31st and 32nd floor of Al Asmakh Tower are among the very best offices in the world. Because of this work, I got different other projects in Qatar. This was the time when I decided to have my own office in Doha,” Marieux said.
Headquartered in Netherlands and Monaco Mont-Carlo , Interior Treasures designs, manufactures and installs projects of the highest quality for the most extravagant, luxury-driven people and corporations around the globe.
“Qatar is a booming market. The country is witnessing a huge growth in construction, especially residential and administrative towers and commercial complexes. The luxurious characteristics of these buildings offer a lot to a company like us,” he said.
With over 40 years of experience in the interior design world, Marieux said, “We understand our client’s desires, turning their dreams into reality. As we all know the per capita income of Qatar is the highest in the world. Thousands of villas are built in Qatar every year. Most villa owners in Qatar want the best of interior designs. Earlier there were not many options for such services in Qatar, Now they can avail these services from us.”
“We take full responsibility of the designs, manufacturing, transportation and installation process. Our team will take care of any project from start to finish,” he said.
“Our international multitalented team makes all of this possible from our different locations,” he said.
To finalise a project to perfection, he said, a very important addition is to have the most beautiful and creative art.
“We listen to our clients. We do not repeat things. Our job is to turn the most complex desires of our clients into reality, exceeding the expectations of even the most eccentric and demanding ones,” he said.
“For this reason, we have especially opened our luxury Art gallery at our office in Doha. Our Art gallery has art pieces from around the globe. Art is emotion. I personally know all the artists myself. I know my clients. This helps me in choosing the right artworks. Currently, we have very exceptional and valuable paintings of old masters like Picasso among very modern and contemporary paintings and sculptures," he said.
"Artists from Spain, Paris, Netherlands, Singapore, the USA and other countries work for us,” he said.
“True luxury lies in taking care of the finest details. The sum of all details makes the magic. I see a very big market for these luxury products and services in Qatar,” he said.
“The number of our clients in Qatar has been growing at a fast pace as the country is witnessing significant growth and luxury in its architectural style to suit our business,” he said.
Asked if the company has any plans to set up manufacturing units in Qatar to cater to the growing number of clients, he said, “There is no such plan at the moment. But I do not rule out this possibility. It might happen in the future.”
