Several prestigious projects will be open to the public next month in time for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Social media user Mohammed Ahmed Marafi (@mohmdmarafi) has highlighted some of the major projects in a series of tweets
1. Darb Lusail: New and air-conditioned street in Lusail City
2. Qetaifan Island North: Located off Lusail City, in Qatar. the island is designed to be Qatar’s future iconic destination. The project spans approximately 1.3 million square metres, with 129,296 square metres of water park alone. It also features exciting entertainment attractions and luxurious hotels including the Rixos Beach Resort, the largest in the region.
3. Al Maha Island: Located across the Lusail Marina promenade and linked to the mainland via a causeway, Al Maha Island is set to attract over 1.5 million visitors per year. Featuring Lusail Winter Wonderland, Nammos Beach Club, Al Maha Arena, and a high-end dining district, Al Maha Island is expected to be a popular destination among citizens and residents in Qatar and is expected to attract tourists from the GCC countries and the region.
4. Three beach clubs: The B12 Club in West Bay, Club 974 in front of 974 Stadium and Azure Club on Qetaifan Island.
5. Raffles & Fairmont Hotels: A new landmark address in Qatar’s Lusail City, located just north of the capital city of Doha, is set to bring two globally renowned luxury hotels to the city. Raffles Doha, an opulent 132-suite property, offers an awe-inspiring suite experience and décor inspired by the grandeur of palaces, paired with views of The Gulf and Doha skyline. The luxurious five-star Fairmont Doha contains 270 rooms, 92 suites, four themed suites and one presidential suite, all inspired by the interiors of luxury mega yachts.
6. Printemps: The famous french department store is coming up in over 30,000 square metres in the historic district of the Qatari capital, located within the upscale Doha Oasis complex that includes a five-star hotel, luxury residences, an amusement park and numerous leisure facilities such as restaurants, a 4D cinema, and a bowling alley.
7. The Old Doha Port project: It will include a residential area, a group of shops and restaurants, a yacht harbour and a large building for passengers of large ships.
8. Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha:The five-star property offers a tranquil private beachfront setting in the heart of Lusail with spectacular surroundings and luxurious hospitality. Featuring 429 rooms, suites, and residences, the resort's amenities include family-friendly pools, a waterpark, cabanas, kids’ and teenagers’ clubs, and a full-service spa.
9. West Walk: It is Doha’s newest fully-integrated community, offering residents and visitors an innovative and exciting destination, tailored for modern life. 10. The Ned Doha: Located in the former Ministry of the Interior building, The Ned Doha will mark the third Ned-branded site in the portfolio, following The Ned NoMad in New York which opened earlier this year, and The Ned London in 2017.
11. Katara Hills LXR Hotels & Resort: It will consist of 15 luxurious villas, each with its own private pool. Each villa will be strategically located in a unique spot above the Katara Hills to provide guests with views of the lush surroundings and the famous Katara Beach.
12. The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort: The upcoming Qatari hotel will have 59 rooms and suites as well as 32 chalets and villas at Katara Cultural Village in Qatar’s capital city, Doha.
13. The Outpost Al Barari: The desert resort is made up of 21 tented suites, the majority of which will have private pools.
