Fifty One East, Qatar’s favourite department store, in partnership with Scale7, Qatar’s first fashion and design business incubator, launched a new permanent space dedicated to young Qatari designers, in a ceremony attended by the designers, management of both entities and members of the press.
The new space located at Fifty One East’s women’s section in Lagoona Mall features a mix of eveningwear, casual wear, activewear, and abaya collections from Aadima, Elvelo, Gympanthere, Lovah, Muna Saad, Taghreed Omar, Verve, and Lusso Di S.
As a leading department store, Fifty One East has been transforming and contributing to Qatar’s retail experience with a heritage of over 70 years. Its attention to detail, warm hospitality and flawless after-sales services have given Fifty One East a competitive edge for decades.
This initiative reiterates the store’s commitment to supporting emerging Qatari talents and helping them broaden their horizons as it promotes their designs within a bouquet of some of the best brands in the world.
Commenting on this special occasion, Aysha Khalifa Al Romaihi, project manager of Scale7, said: “This agreement with Fifty One East comes within our framework of creating startups in the fashion and design world to showcase the young designers’ potential”.
“The collaboration reflects the trust between Fifty One East and Scale7, which allows us to work closely in support of our young designers, ensuring their local and global expansion. We are convinced that it will offer them a promising display to the public,” she added.
Scale7 was founded by Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in partnership with M7, to serve as a platform to promote, develop and foster the creative industry in the country. Scale7 is a space where designers, entrepreneurs, and startups can find not only support but also inspiration on their journey towards becoming recognized, commercially viable brands.
