PwC’s Academy, the talent and skills development business of PwC Middle East, hosted its 10th regional Annual IFRS Update in Qatar this week, preparing finance professionals with the knowledge and application needed for the latest developments in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and its relevance to Qatar’s economy in 2022 and beyond.

Hosted by PwC’s world-leading experts in IFRS adoption, the one-day seminar held at St Regis, Doha, was attended by over 150 finance professionals from mid to senior management. Attendees joined from a variety of industries and sectors, including oil and gas, public sector, real estate and hospitality, education healthcare, banking and telecommunication

The interactive sessions covered the latest global updates and their application in Qatar, including preparation for December 2022 year ends, the amendments under IFRS needed for financial reporting in 2023 and beyond, as well as the impact of ESG reporting.

International Financial Reporting Standards are the world’s most widely applied accounting standards and are constantly evolving. PwC’s 10th Annual IFRS update is the first in a series of seven IFRS updates taking place across the region.
