The MUN enthusiasts of DPS Modern Indian School, 24 students accompanied by MUN Directors Jolly Sabu and Amir Khan, had an enriching experience attending the Global Classrooms International High School Model United Nations conference 2016 in New York from May 11 to 14. It had more than 2,600 students participating from 174 countries from around the world. The duo representing Ecosoc committee, Ronishka Sabu Nalpathil and Anuragini Suresh won the Honorary Mention Award for their performance and was honoured at the UN headquarters, New York.
The students from DPS-Modern Indian School represented India in 16 committees. The conference gave scope to initiate the students to international diplomacy by letting them simulate various UN member states and investigate multilateral issues from a national perspective.
The students could hone their public speaking, debating and negotiating skills, all while engaging in consensus building and learning prejudice reduction mechanisms.
