The NEWGIZA Premier Padel P1, the first Premier Padel tournament in Egypt and on the African continent, got underway on Tuesday. The Round of 64 main draw matches continued on Wednesday. The best padel players from around the world are competing this week in Cairo on three courts renamed for the occasion, to reflect the rich ancient history of our host country: Center court is Cheops Stadium, renamed in honour of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; Court No. 2 is Khafre Court while Court No. 3 has been named Menkaure Court. In total, 48 pairs are playing in the first P1 in Egypt following the multi-year agreement reached by Premier Padel - with a prize money of €250,000. Winners will obtain up to 1.000 official FIP ranking points. (TNN)
