The Ministry of Labour (MoL), in cooperation with the US Department of Labour and in coordination with the US Embassy in the State of Qatar, organised a training workshop on occupational safety and health from October 25 to 27.
The workshop came within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the governments of the State of Qatar and the United States of America in the field of labour.
The workshop discussed the main requirements of employers, workers and labour inspectors in identifying and addressing construction sector risks, including heat stress and accident-related practices. It also discussed ways to identify the root causes, and highlighted the current occupational safety and health rules regarding addressing heat challenges.
