His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani performed the Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer along with worshippers at Al-Wajba prayer ground on Thursday morning, in revival of the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), praying to Allah the Almighty for rainfall.
HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of HH the Amir, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani took part in the prayer.
Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, a number of sheikhs and ministers along with citizens also joined the prayer.
In a sermon after the prayer, the Judge at the Court of Cassation and Member of the Judicial Supreme Council Sheikh Dr Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, who led the prayer, urged the worshippers to ask Allah the Almighty for forgiveness and for rainfall. Dr Al Shammari also urged people to give alms, which are one of the reasons for rainfall. page 14
