The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched an e-services portal, where its customers can avail of a range of 23 services including submission of applications electronically.
Individuals as well as businesses can make use of the portal (customerzone.ashghal.gov.qa), which has been launched as per the timeline given to Ashghal by the Qatar E-Government 2020 Strategy Management Office. Customers can access the services through the new portal by registering on Ashghal's website.
The e-services portal is also part of Ashghal's initiatives launched during the past two years, aiming to enhance direct interaction with customers.
Ashghal aims to provide its customers with a comprehensive and efficient experience through these initiatives. These include a contact centre, which receives calls round-the-clock and 7 days a week, and Customer Zone Centres in Ashghal's headquarter in Westbay and on the Wholesale Market Street near Salwa Road.
These projects rely on a new integrated system to manage customer relations, which was implemented by the programme team in Ashghal in cooperation with Microsoft.
The new interface has an organised and simple design which helps customers to have easy access to the services.
The services are categorised as lists based on their type. For example, The Roads Services contain 11 services, Drainage Services contain five services, Infrastructure Services include three services, in addition to the Complaints, Suggestions, Enquiries, and Notifications lists.
The application process is easy and fast.
Documents can be uploaded and attached while submitting the complete applications electronically.
Roads Services include a number of services and permits such as Dedicated Parking Permit, Road Events Permit, Scaffolding Permit for Contractors, Road Space Booking - for Skip, No-Objection Certificates, Traffic Diversion Plan (TDP), Directional Signage Request, Street Light Installation Request, Practical Completion Certificate (PCC) Request, Removal/Relocation of Street Light Request and Speed Hump Application.
Drainage Services include a number of services such as Grease Trap Permit, Groundwater Dewatering Permit (for Contractors), Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) Tankers Permit,Tankers Permit (for Individuals / Compounds), Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) New Connections.
Infrastructure Services include Plot Demarcation, Road Level Enquiry and House Connections to Drainage Networks.
In the Suggestions section, customers, citizens and residents can provide opinions and suggestions that would help Ashghal improve its services and the projects it implements.
Enquiries service enables customers submit an enquiry or request data or information related to Ashghal, or any of its services. Ashghal's customer service agents will respond to all such enquiries received.
Complaints section helps customers submit a complaint related to any problem they face in any of Ashghal's projects or services. Customers are kept informed of the progress throughout this process.
