Oman has liberalised its visa rules, enabling GCC residents of all professions to enter the sultanate with a visa-on-arrival.

The visas can be obtained for a fee upon arrival, local media reported.

According to an Omani directive, residents of Qatar, Saudi Arabia,Kuwait, the UAE, or Bahrain, are not required to come from their country of residence. For example, a resident of Qatar is not required to arrive directly from Qatar to be eligible for the visa-on-arrival, said a Times of Oman report quoting a circular from Oman Airports.

The GCC residents cannot be denied entry as long as the residence visa is valid for a period of no less than three months, it added.
