HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser said she was proud of Qatar's current leadership and expects the country to head into a new phase under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Speaking to CNBC International, the chairperson of the Education Above All Foundation (EAAF) said the Amir went through a lot of challenges since he took over but faced them all with prudence and wisdom.She said the Amir was "young” and "ambitious”, and enjoys the support and love of the people.
"I think he learned a lot from the political master, his father. As a mother, I am also very proud of him. I think he is going to take Qatar to a new phase.”
Talking about HH the Father Amir, Sheikha Moza said His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani had a vision for his people and the country.
"He wanted Qatar to be a modern and prosperous country and I think he achieved that. The transition from Sheikh Hamad to Sheikh Tamim — my son — happened in a very smooth way, from father to son.”
