HEC Paris in Qatar, ranked Europe’s number one Business School and for Executive Education Worldwide in the famed Financial Times (FT) rankings, has welcomed 44 participants to its Specialised Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Unit Management (SBUM) class of 2024, the most diverse group by age range and sectoral interests.
The new cohort onboarded on the business school’s campus in Msheireb Downtown includes participants whose ages range from 26 to 45 years and drawn from diverse professional backgrounds. The 14 industries they represent span from healthcare, banking, public sector, consulting, oil and gas, aviation, telecommunications to education, among others. More than 20 percent of the participants in the current cohort are alumni from Qatar Foundation partner universities.
Welcoming the new cohort, Dr Pablo Martin de Holan, dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, said: “This is an exceptionally varied intake for HEC Paris and one which demonstrates the diversity of leadership within Qatar. The range of age groups, roles and sectors this intake represents brings a welcome opportunity for participants to learn, not only from our expert faculty, but also from a valuable peer network with diverse backgrounds, work environments and generational perspectives with whom they can share best practices.”
With this intake, HEC Paris in Qatar is now on course to surpass the 500 mark in the number of participants who will hold the business school’s Specialised Master’s degree from Qatar.
“HEC Paris has greatly fulfilled two of my top main goals in my professional and personal life, earning my master’s degree from an elite school of business, and being part of a great strong network of distinguished individuals where I not only hope to positively contribute to the group, but also benefit and learn from my peers in life,” Hessa Al Thani, Specialised Master’s 2022.
“I believe this programme will enable me to improve my leadership skills and career perspectives,” said Specialised Master’s 2024 participant Sahar Al Ansari. “The part-time nature of the programme will enable me to put learnings into practice as I move between the campus and my workplace. I am also very excited to network with the other participants and learn from their experiences, and I hope we build relationships which will endure as all our careers progress.”
